The Notification settings screen (menu Administration › Instance and operations › Notifications › Settings) sets how Portail ZAPP sends its notifications: by email, by SMS, in Microsoft Teams or in the application. It is reserved for Administrators.
Each tab is saved separately with its Save button. Passwords and secrets already saved are never shown again: leave the field empty to keep them.
Channels
The table lists the four channels: Email, SMS, Microsoft Teams and In-App.
- Active: an unticked channel no longer appears in users' preferences and sends nothing, even to users who had turned it on; their setting is kept and applies again if you tick the channel back. Email is Always on.
- User can toggle: unticked, the channel is locked; users see it in their Notification preferences without being able to change it, and their current setting is kept.
With no personal setting, a user receives notifications in the application and by email.
Email (SMTP)
- SMTP server and Port;
- From address and Display name;
- Encryption / TLS: STARTTLS (port 587), implicit SSL/TLS (port 465) or none (port 25);
- Authentication mode: user name and password, or OAuth2 for Microsoft 365. With OAuth2, fill in the Tenant ID (Directory ID), the Client ID (Application ID) and the Client secret of an application registered in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), with the SMTP.Send application permission.
Send test email sends a message to your own address. Test messages are written in your language and carry the App name set in Branding.
SMS (OVH SMPP)
Fill in your provider's SMPP account: OVH SMPP host, Port, TLS, System ID, Password and Sender (the name or number shown to the recipient). Leave Request a delivery receipt (DLR) unticked unless your provider requires it: receipts are not used yet.
When your instance's license includes it, a Sending account provided by the publisher box offers to send SMS through that account (Use the publisher's account); saving your own account replaces it.
Send test SMS sends a message to the Test phone number entered, in international format: +, the country code, then the number without its leading zero.
Microsoft Teams
Paste the Webhook URL of an Incoming Webhook connector of the Teams channel that should receive the messages. Send test message posts a message there.
When a test fails
The message Test send failed: is shown at the top of the screen, followed by the error returned by the mail server, the SMS operator or Teams. Check the server address, the port, the encryption and the credentials.
