Electronic signature lets people sign a document online: a CRM quote, the answer to a request… The module that sends the document only deals with its content; the Electronic signature screen sets up the provider, shared by all modules.
Without a provider, nothing changes for users: the customer sends back the signed document, which is attached by hand.
Choosing the provider
The provider available today is Documenso, an open source service, hosted by its publisher or installed on your own servers.
- Open Electronic signature.
- Choose Documenso in Provider.
- Enter the Documenso address:
https://app.documenso.comfor the hosted service, or the address of your installation. The address must start withhttps://. - Paste the API token, created in Documenso (account settings, API tokens).
- Save, then click Test the connection.
The token is never displayed again. Leave the field empty to keep it, or tick Clear to remove it.
Changing the address without entering the token again clears the saved token: it is never sent to a server other than the one it was entered for. Enter it again after changing the address.
Declaring the webhook
The webhook tells MyZapp as soon as a document is signed, rejected or canceled.
- In Documenso, create a webhook to the address shown on the screen (Webhook address to declare in Documenso).
- Choose the events: document completed, rejected, canceled.
- Choose a secret and copy it into Webhook secret.
Without a secret, no webhook is accepted: the status of documents is then checked every 15 minutes. This check also covers a webhook that got lost.
Following documents
The screen lists the latest documents sent for signature: the module that sent them, the signers, the status, and whether the module has been notified.
- Signed: the signed document is kept in the files, and the module takes it into account (for example, the quote becomes "accepted").
- Rejected, canceled or expired: the module is notified the same way.
- Module notified: pending: the notification will be retried automatically. The error shown helps understand a failure that lasts.
The log traces the sending, the status changes, the retrieval of the signed document and the notifications.
